In the next couple of posts, we will look at the most popular types of home visit massage.
Aromatherapy Massage
This is a very popular type of massage where the therapist selects different essential oils that are relaxing, soothing, energising and smell rather lovely. An aromatherapy massage is an ideal way to receive a home massage, particularly if you’re seeking a relaxing, gentle therapeutic massage.
Swedish Massage
This type of massage is very common and was pioneered by a Swedish physiologist, Per Henrik Ling (1776-1839), at the University of Stockholm. You may have not even realised you were receiving a Swedish-style massage because the massage therapist simply uses long smooth strokes, kneading and round movements on the upper layers of your muscles using a massage oil.
Hot Stone Massage
My favourite type of massage, as long as the stones are not too hot! Hot stone massage is a lovely relaxing type of massage where smooth, heated stones are placed on certain points of the body to relax tightened muscles and balance the energy flows in the body. A hot stone massage is ideal for recipients who want a lighter massage but still want to release the tension in their muscles.
All 3 types of massage can be requested for a home visit massage. The remaining 4 Most Popular Massages will be outlined in our blog next week.
